I've been here a handful of times and my most recent visit was a few weeks ago. I somehow always forget to take a photo of the "Straccetti di Papa" because we share and devour this before having our mains. These are mini baked dough balls with tomato, arugula, parmigiano and fior di latte...DIVINE! With my family of 4 on this visit we all had amazing mains. The ribeye special and lamb chops were so good. The service was above and beyond and John catered to all our needs. He was pleasant, personable and didn't rush us as many restaurants do. The owner Antonio came over to check in on our evening and brought us some homemade desserts that were out of this world! Fresh and truly tasted like an authentic Italian dessert my Nonna would make back in Foggia, Italy. Nothing frozen here. It was another wonderful experience and I definitely recommend it and will be back again!!
Good Italian food, ambience and decor. The eggplant pizza of course was made in front of us and was amazing. The cheese and breads- top notch. Calamari was one of the best I've had. Bufala cheese was good and shareable by 4 I'd say. Hidden gem! Highly recommend.

I had dinner at Osteria Gente with my boyfriend and i had an amazing experience. Italian authentic food. The staff and waiters are amazing people, I felt welcomed and would definitely recommend to anyone. The food was great and the drinks were perfect! Risotto with shrimps tartare and lemon jelly was outstanding. Next time I’ll be in Toronto i would definitely come again! Thank you!!
This place is a hidden gem in Woodbridge! Our new favourite spot. We’ve loved everything that we’ve tried so far - lobster gnocchi, potato pizza, penne ala vodka and bolognese. The bread to start is fresh, and we loved the fried calamari!
Osteria has great Italian food with fantastic service. A huge thank you to Rick who made our experience unforgettable. It was the perfect place for a 31st dinner birthday. We had a variety of appetizers and picked from the daily specials. Every single member of our group was very satisfied and will be returning soon. Thanks again!
We were in the area and wanted to try a new place that is not a food chain as I am done with those. Osteria Gente was a lovely surprise for us. We were welcomes despite no reservations as we were kinda early for dinner time. It got so busy so soon! The food is amazing, fresh and just like I wish I could cool at home. After paying, we realized that the host forgot to charged for desserts, so we asked him to bring another check. Well, the gracious host was amused and didn't charge us for those...who does that nowadays! The fresh Tiramisu is one the best I have ever had. I guess when you are treated with such warmth, you feel the connection. We will certainly go back very soon! Update: we revised yesterday for a birthday. To our surprise, we got a dessert Platter for the family and last drink of sour whisky, offered to all but only birthday boy accepted graciously. It really felt like a part of Osteria family as they make you feel at home.
I would highly recommend here, food is amazing, love the atmosphere, such an awesome experience.
